Kelly completed 17 of his 29 passes for 363 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Bills to a 47-41 overtime victory over the Houston Oilers at the Houston Astrodome. Kelly went toe to toe with Oilers QB Warren Moon and the two produced a show. He connected with both RB Thurman Thomas and WR Andre Reed for two touchdowns a piece and also connected with WR Don Beebe for a 63 yard touchdown. Reed’s touchdowns came on a 78 yard bomb to begin the 4th quarter and the Hall of Fame duo also connected for the game-winning 28 yard touchdown in overtime.

Kelly turned in one of his most clutch performances against the Jets as he completed 19 of his 32 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bills to a 30-27 victory. After falling behind 21-7 in the second quarter, Kelly threw for three more touchdowns including the game-winning 14 yard pass with 19 seconds left to RB Jamie Mueller to complete the comeback.
January 12, 1991
Kelly outplayed Dolphins QB Dan Marino to lead the Bills to a thrilling 44-34 divisional round playoff game at Rich Stadium. Kelly went 19 for 29 on the day for 339 yards and three touchdowns as he conducted an offense that couldn’t be slowed down. Kelly and WR Andre Reed connected for two touchdowns and with WR James Lofton for one.
January 20, 1991
The Bills simply overwhelmed the Los Angeles Raiders in the 1990 AFC Championship game on the way to a 51-3 victory that sent them to their first Super Bowl. While it was a true team performance, Kelly also turned in one of his top playoff performances. He completed 17 of his 23 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns on the day. Kelly found it easy to pick apart the Raiders defense and hooked up with WR James Lofton for both of his touchdown passes.
September 8, 1991
It was pure dominance from start to finish for Kelly in the Bills 52-34 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Rich Stadium. He completed 31 of his 43 passes for 363 yards and a career-high six touchdowns. Hall of Famers Andre Reed and James Lofton each had a touchdown reception, but Don Beebe was Kelly’s favorite target on this day as he pulled in four touchdown catches.
October 21, 1991
Kelly went in to gunslinger mode as he outdueled Cincinnati QB Boomer Esiason as Monday Night Football found its way to Rich Stadium for a 35-16 Bills victory. Kelly completed 18 of his 27 passes for 392 yards and five touchdowns on the night as the Bills passed early and often. WR James Lofton hauled in two touchdowns and RB Thurman Thomas, WR Andre Reed and TE Pete Metzelaars each had one touchdown a piece.
September 13, 1992
Kelly throws for a career-high 403 yards and three touchdowns to outduel 49ers QB Steve Young in a 34-31 Bills victory at Candlestick Park. Kelly linked up with TE Pete Metzelaars for a 53 yard touchdown and a 24 yard touchdown on back to back drives in the third quarter. Kelly capped his day off by leading the Bills on a 12-play, 72 yard drive in the fourth quarter which resulted in a game-winning 11 yard touchdown run by RB Thurman Thomas. The touchdown run was set up after Kelly completed a nine yard pass to James Lofton on 4th and four from the 49ers 20-yard line.
September 27, 1992
It wasn’t a game in which he needed to be masterful, but Kelly brought his A-game when the Bills traveled to Foxboro and he turned in a brilliant performance going 15 for 20 for 308 yards and three touchdowns. His precision passing dominated the Patriots defense as the Bills rolled 41-7. WR James Lofton pulled in two of the touchdowns and WR Andre Reed had the other.
November 8, 1992
Kelly contributed a clinical performance as he completed 26 of 33 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns as he led the Bills to a 28-20 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Rich Stadium. Kelly connected with James Lofton for both a 22 yard and a 45 yard touchdown. He also found OG Mitch Frerotte for a two yard touchdown in the second quarter, as he controlled the game from start to finish.
